Bye Bye Baby

The girls have never slept together.  They have their own rooms, their own beds/cribs, & have never had a 'sleepover' with each other.  Not by the girls choice, but by mine.  I just know the two of them & know that if they slept together there would be no sleeping going on.  There would be a lot of talking, laughing & even fighting, but certainly no sleeping.

While we were at my parent's house, Marc was on 'daddy duty' Friday night as my mom was gracious enough to host a Scentsy party, so I was busy entertaining the ladies.  He bathed them & got them ready for bed, and at bed time Ashby said she wanted to sleep in the big girl bed and not the crib.  So being a slight pushover, he let them!  And you know what, they did fabulous!  He only had to go in their one time to calm them down, and they slept through the night & woke up at their usual time.

So Monday when we got home from my parent's house, we converted Ashby's crib to a toddler bed.  We figured that she did so well at Grammy & Papa's house, that she was probably ready to move to a big girl bed.  So Marc got to work & we said goodbye to the crib!

{She was 'this close' to climbing out herself!}

And just like that, Ashby is no longer a baby!  At 2 1/2 I know she really isn't a baby anymore, but to me, her still being in a crib was the last baby thing in our house.  And now that it is gone, I guess I can officially say we are out of the baby phase.  While I'm thrilled to be moving on to the next stage in our life, I get a little sad that the baby phase is gone.  Not sad enough to have another baby, but just sad enough to think that I will never have a little baby, a crib, diapers, etc. in the house again.  But I quickly forget about the sadness when I think about all of the fun things we can do with the girls as they get older, and how much easier it is (and will be) when we go places & travel!

And whenever I get the urge to hold a baby, change a little diaper, etc. I can just go over to my sister's house & hold Greyson!  Who, by the way, was 6 lbs 6 oz yesterday & took 2 full bottles (and maybe more but this was in the early afternoon when I talked to my sister).  He's getting closer & closer to going HOME!!!
